Day 179/365 - Plant the Seed

I've had this seed packet sitting on my desk since mother's day, not knowing what to do with it. Then I read today's prompt!

I tried to figure out how to write my haiku directly on the packet, but gave up and took the easy way.

Day 178/365 - Bird Life

When I saw the prompt, I decided to revisit these free bird coasters I received.

I'm still rereading the Little House on the Prairie books, and I think that drew me to this one in particular.

Day 177/365 - I, Robot

Slightly off prompt, and mis-numbered. Got back from our camping trip and I seem to have brought a cold back with me and I was just too tired to fix it. I even had to call in reinforcements from my 6yo daughter to draw the robot.

But hey, she's an everyday object, so I feel like I still win

Day 175/365 - In Miniature

Still on a camping trip and we spent the day at the Dayton Air Show, which was a lot of fun but exhausting. Writing this took the last of my energy tonight.

In case you can't tell, that's a nickel for size reference.

Day 174/365 - Fine Dining

Greetings from Buck Creek State Park near Springfield, Ohio. It's always a fun challenge to figure out how to keep up with #make365 on a camping trip. The haiku is easier than some.

I plan family meals for camping trips really well. I spend most of the night before we leave pre cooking food to be easily packed in a cooler. The one thing I can't quite get the hand of though is planning when we leave around dinner. Either leave early enough to get to the campground for dinner or eat before we go. Tonight was not well planned so it was McDonalds to the rescue.

Day 173/365 - Signs Everywhere

The hardest part of this one was getting the words to fit.

I encourage you all to follow the road your friend travels with you.

Day 172/365 - Book It!

It took a little while to figure out what I wanted to do. I spent most of the time I was in the garage helping my husband with a quick woodworking project brainstorming.

Then I saw a chunk of wood on the ground and asked him how thin he could cut the wood. Keeping with my haiku theme, I knew I would only need two pieces. He lovingly obliged and then I was ready. I really like how it turned out!

Day 169/365 - Gimme Shelter

Maybe not the first thing someone think of as shelter, but I was grateful for it tonight.

Day 168/365 - Scary Story

I will admit to using a thesaurus to find words with more syllables than spooky. But I like these ten-word story prompts. And I felt very clever when I made 10 words fit into a haiku.

Day 167/365 - Pencil It In

No explanation needed here. And no reason for the Ohio post-it. I just always like finding an excuse to use it.

Day 166/365 - Defend Yourself!

Took a look around my desk for something to use for today.

I found these cheap cardboard coasters some non-profit sent me with some name labels. I decided the two birds on this one looked like they had beef. So I let them declare war on each other.

Day 164&165/365 - Wind and Planes

I got some very exciting news on Monday, which I'm not allowed to talk about yet, but it occupied a lot of energy yesterday.  So I caught up today.

Day 164 let me borrow more song lyrics and make them fit in haiku.

Day 165 has very little to do with the prompt, but when I looked read it, the thought in my head was "what can I make of this?" Which made me think of One of the Ohio 5, which haiku month is for. I'm just happy I made it fit.

Day 163/365 - Frozen Dinner

It's going to be so delicious! Thanksgiving should always come more than once a year.

Day 162/365 - Caught in a trap

Another directly from the campground. Kept trying to come up with something original, but then, when something involving Elvis fits, why try to improve on that. Especially when it's a lyric that fits almost perfectly.

Day 160&161/365 - Camping Trip

Greetings from Mt. Gilead State Park. Another beautiful weekend and we turned picking up our oldest from camp into a camping trip of our own.

Blessedly, all I need for this month's theme is paper and a pen. (And use of a couple of the kids' crayons.

Day 158/365 - Homonyms

This is definitely my favorite so far this month. Possibly so far in #makesomething365. I laughed way too hard at my own cleverness.

Day 157/365 - Built on a Rock

Had to tak some liberties with the prompt, but that's part of the beauty of this project. And now the song is stuck in my head.

Day 156/365 - Rollin'

My biggest concern was finding an empty roll today. Once I had that it was smooth sailing.

Day 155/365 - Fingerprinting

I took myself WAY out of my comfort zone today because  can't stand even watching people write on their skin, let alone willingly put paint on it. But anything for #makesomething365. (And yes, I have tattoos...but that's different.)

Another raid into my kids' art supplies to make today's project. I started with their stamp pads, but those were all dry. Then I found these sponge paint tube things, but we only had three colors and one was green that couldn't be seen on my paper.
