Day 120/365 - Box It Up

I've thought about this prompt all day. I don't know why I tried to make it so complicated.

In the end, I went back to my kids' wood blocks on our porch. Sometimes the answer is so simple.

Day 119/365 - New Animal

Simple enough prompt, but I'm not much for free hand drawing. So I give you my Lady Star Bug!

Day 118/365 - Wood Shop

First of all, I did not forget yesterday. Stay tuned for next Thursday and I'll come back to it.

Second, I was so excited when I read he prompt.

I was thrilled because I knew what had been hiding in my craft drawer for ages, with me not knowing what to do with it.

You see it poking out there? I've had this 3D wood star for ages.

Gave myself a few guidelines and got out my metallic markers and played around. It's not quite as bright as I was hoping, but it brings a smile to my face.

Day 116/365 - Map Quest

I'm still playing catch up, but I thought it was time to continue forward.

Today is Administrative Assstant's Day and I once again attended a church administrative assistant appreciation luncheon. It's held on the this day each year. The picture above was on the program for the event. Since I'm a compulsive doodler, I thought I'd at lest be constructive and knock out my prompt while I was at it.

And I got a yummy lunch

I won a door prize

I feel very appreciated now.

Day 107/365 - Have a Ball

Well, it's sort of round and it flips over. That's something.

But at least I still have stars. My only other thought was to wad the paper and that seemed like cheating.

Day 109/365 - Dirty Art

And because just being behind wasn't enough of a challenge, I'm trying to keep up with #makesomething365 while on a family camping trip.

At least this was easy to find a way to do at a state park campground!

Day 108/365 - Steamy Art

Playing catchup, I don't know how I let myself get so far behind. Okay. Let's get back on track.

105 & 106/365 - Impossible Finds

Combined two days.

I went back to some fabric I used earlier this month (which wasn't bought at a thrift store but was bought from a clearance rack) and tried to duplicate this optical illusion star:

Close enough!

Day 104/365 - Come as a Child

Another pretty easy concept, but it took me awhile again. Mostly because my imagination is exhausted. And I'm exhausted.

And almost everything I try to draw looks like regression because I'm bad at it.

Day 103/365 - Clean Star

Another one that is easy enough to figure out, but it still took some finagling. Like using a tissue instead of a napkin. Because sinus infection. That's why.

102/365 - i palindrome i

This one was almost too easy. What a good month to have a theme.

Although please note that even though it was easy, I'm still a day behind. I spent way too much time trying to find some rubber rats I've held on to since high school. But finding anything in my keepsake trunk proved more than I was willing to do.

Day 101/365 - Book Report

I'm actually reading a book right now, so at least that part was easy.

A while back my oldest had a family reading challenge project where the parent picked the book and you read it together. We picked the Little House series. This is a scene in the fourth book when they've just built a new house and Laura talks about all the stars.

Man am I glad I found my metallic markers, because they look so awesome on black construction paper!

Day 100/365 - Upcycle

Had to deviate from the prompt a bit because I just did a whole closet clean out of clothes that don't fit.

But I did remember some fabric I've had around, one of which I've used previously.

So I thought I'd try this fabric star tying I'd seen on Pinterest. Let's just say it didn't work.

So I settled for something easier. And I'm okay with that.

Day 99/365 - Bug Life 🐜

Days are all mixed up, but I'll get them all in here. Just not in the right order. At least this one doesn't need an explanation either.

Although this wasn't my first plan. I tried to catch a couple of potato bugs and get their picture on the star, but I guess my fingers are officially too chubby to do that.

Day 97/365 - RSVP

Couple of days behind again. But at least this one needs no explanation.

Day 96/365 - Backwards

I sort of ignored the prompt. Sort of. I did, however, work with a huge impediment. I let my kids help me bake.

Day 95/365 - Label Maker

I don't like to talk to strangers, but my husband is one of the strangest guys I know. So I asked him.

I asked him right as I was putting our second attempt at home brewing in the fridge. So he suggested I make a label for our beer.

Day 94/365 - Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana?

Simple prompt gets a simple project. But I smiled the whole time because orange is my favorite color. And I raided more of my kids' art stuff.

Day 93/365 - Nuts and Bolts

Not a lot to say about this one. I did just what the prompt said.

I even got to raid my husband's workspace for a change. He wouldn't let me make anything permanent, though. I wanted to fit pieces together and make an ornament or something. Oh well...

Day 92/365 - Past Life

I felt good about this one. Even though I wondered how to tie in my theme.

I remembered some Christmas stationery in my supply drawer. Stars all around the border. Done!

I wrote a lot more than I expected to, which was pretty therapeutic. I'm going to collect the bonus by giving this to my oldest daughter, who is 9. We'll see if she gets anything out of it.
