The prompt was harder than I originally thought. It took some time to come up with something.
And then I remembered the go-to snack my Dad swore by and then passed his love of down to my oldest. They swear it's tastes good and is filling, but I will never know. So I just made this one and gave it to my daughter, who was most appreciative.

The prompt was pretty straightforward, but came on a day when I had already put aside time to help my kids reorganize their room.
I don't know if you can tell, but this "book shelf" (which used to be a kneeling rail in a church) is about 10 feet long. We really haven't been sure what to do with it, then we got this brilliant idea.
Working with them to find a way to clean up heir space has led me to decide next month's concentration. I'm going to collaborate with at least one member of my family for each day in March.
Or at least until they all make me crazy...

In my quests to take each day's prompt literally, I was at a loss for what to do today.
I went down to look in my craft supplies drawer for some ideas. The first thing I saw was this cool space-y fabric I had saved from a past VBS.
I figured anything in space would be "light" because of the lack of gravity. A little more digging and rummaging, and I give you "Elephant on a Cloud in Space".

At last! I got a prompt that can put my music degree to good use!
I don't know why a bunny immediately came to mind, but I ran with it. Thought of a quick melody (that was the easy part), put some rhyming words to paper (slightly harder)...
Looked up a cute bunny video on my iPad, then recorded the YouTube video on my phone while I sang the words.
Man. I really spent that money on my degree wisely.

You can tell it's a fire, right? Not bad for a first attempt at something I've never tried before.
I found some reinforcement stickers in my desk drawer. I thought I might be able to use them. I took to the internet for some inspiration.
Dug a few more things I thought I might need from my desk.
Pondered when would be the best time to color the dots. I decided still on the sheets would work best.
Just a few minutes later, I had my finished product.

I was looking forward to making this prompt all day. I just wasn't sure what I was going to do.
I searched my kitchen for something quick and easy, since I didn't get to it until 8:30pm, when the kids were in bed.
Then it hit me. Popcorn! Down side is I have an air popper and they are crazy noisy, so I took all my supplies down to my basement so it wouldn't be so loud.
Then it was just a couple of minutes till the unmistakable smell took over.
Now I get to sit back and enjoy the fruit of my labor. Yum!

It was another low creativity/stressful family day. Did you know 9 year-olds have drama? Because they really do. Here was the prompt:
The first thing I thought of were the simple smiley faces that become a frown when you turn them upside down. I decided to try my hand at one.
Here's the flip:
I'll try to be more creative tomorrow.

Simple enough prompt, and a quick look around the house found me a few items to work with.
Found some really cheap modeling clay in the kids art stuff, and I remembered I had some white yarn left over from when my oldest used it for hair when she had to turn a pumpkin into a bust of James Madison.
We may never get a day in Central Ohio this year with enough real snow to make a snowman, so I'll have to settle for this tiny version.

A day late, but I needed daylight to do the project because our kids' blocks are on our porch.
Materials? I needed plenty.
All of our wood blocks
The Moana soundtrack (alright, I didn't NEED that, but it was nice to have going)
My coffee cup and an unseasonably warm and sunny porch.
The kids were buzzing around me, asking questions and making suggestions. And then I had to make a deal with my older son to use some of the blocks he was playing with. Deal was, I got the blocks, but he got to knock it down when I was all done.
Here it is with a yardstick for size reference.
And then it all came down in a matter of seconds, courtesy of my 7yo.

Checked the prompt again first thing this morning. The day goes so much better when I do that.
I have to admit to stealing this one too. My kids made this for me a couple of Mothers Days ago, but I keep it on my desk because it makes me happy remembering how excited they were to give it to me.

I had checked the prompt in the morning, to give myself time to think of something. I had my inspiration when I was driving in between my jobs today.
Even if I didn't do very much, it was still fun to learn about a new tool that's available online. Part of the fun in #makesomething365 is learning about tools at my disposal and how I might be able to use them in everyday life.

Simple enough prompt. Or at least it would have been if I'd have had any inspiration today.
I took to my craft drawer once again, to get my creativity started. This drawer is also where I keep leftovers from school projects. The first thing I saw were these stickers.
And that's when I realized, stickers are essentially tape. Creativity problem solved. Now I'll try to think of somewhere cool to leave this hashtag, so that other people can find their way to this project.

Valentines Day is upon us. With 4 kids in school, there's a lot to get ready for. And I wanted to come up with a way to tie in my prompt.
I thought finding something we can all do together shouldn't be too hard. I did a search, found what looked to be a quick and easy project. Cut to 5.5 hours later, me finishing up the last of them by myself in my dining room because the kids were already in bed. 92 of them was my grand total and my dining room table paid the price.
